A short film by Alastair Blackburn
A brief short film by Alastair Blackburn on his and his wife Wendy’s history on this project. This short was filmed in June 2023, circa 6 weeks after their JV on cultural partnership was signed in Shaanxi Province. This short also includes the July 2022 attempt to reach consensus but we were unable to do so at that time. We would like to thank the residents and friends in MACC, some of whom are in this short, for all of their support to date. More to come…and hopefully over the summer.
The Xi’an cultural exchange with the Macclesfield based Silk Road Foundation was signed in Xi’an during April 2023. As a part of the agreement, Silk Road Foundation was allocated space in Xi’an’s Silk Road Paradise Park to educate visitors on Macclesfield and its history with the Silk Road. More to follow later, but for now we include a photo of the Park.

The Xi’an cultural exchange
This short clip was filmed a UK based student film maker during the second half of 2022. It is intended to record their vision before the project actually signed but after they sold their London home to relocate to Macclesfield and launch the home of their Macclesfield office which will also house their Chinese art collection.
Connecting the ends of the Silk Road

After Macclesfield’s initial 2012 visit to Xian, I began researching the history. I followed with two visits to Macclesfield, one in 2017 and one in 2018 – both of which preceded the CCTV documentary and the UK Chinese Embassy documentary/shot video in 2019.
I was then active in the 2022 discussions between both cities – again for background information for a film I am planning to make.
